An oath betrayed... Terror reigns in...

Features: DVD, Full Picture Aspect Ratio, English, Hi-fi Stereo

On a rainy, windswept night, in a secluded stately home in Victorian England, Major John Sholto sits dining with his two sons, Thaddeus and Bartholomew. Outside, thunder and lightning shatter the sky, but inside all is quiet--at least at first. Suddenly the butler appears, bearing a sealed envelope left tacked to the front door. The Major opens the mysterious communication and extracts a note from within. He pales, then sputters incoherently and collapses in the arms of his startled sons. Major Sholto has glimpsed cold, unyielding death in the form of a scribble warning from the past... It is The Sign of the Four! Ian Richardson stars as Sherlock Holmes, the World's Greatest Detective, in a spine-tingling mystery filled to the bloody brim with peg-legged killers, poisonous pygmies, boat chases, carnivals and sudden merciless extinction, all tied to a king's ransom in jewels known as the Great Agra Treasure! With the faithful and resourceful Dr. Watson (David Healy) by his side and the beautiful Miss Mary Morstan (Cherie Lunghi), a delectable damsel in distress, it's up to the human bloodhound known as Sherlock Holmes--with the help of a remarkable canine called Toby--to unravel the puzzle and find the stolen fortune before The Sign Of The Four claims yet another victim.
